Longwood’s Intermediate Footballers face their biggest challenge of the 2021 season on Sunday when they square up to Moylagh in Round 3 of the championship.
Both teams find themselves in the unenviable position of having lost their opening two group games. Victory for either team on Sunday will secure their Intermediate status for next season. Defeat will mean they face the prospect of a relegation play-off. So the stakes are high!
The teams will need no introduction having clashed earlier this season, Moylagh edging a close encounter in the Corn Na Boinne competition. Will that result have any bearing on Sunday’s game? We shall have to wait and see.
So enjoy the All Ireland Final on Saturday evening but remember the BIGGEST game of the weekend takes place on Sunday at 12.00 in Kildalkey. Please come out and support the boys, they deserve it.
Remember that you must have a ticket to attend all Meath Senior/Intermediate/Junior Championship games. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.universe.com/events/meade-farm-group-intermediate-championship-moylagh-v-longwood-tickets-XJRV48?ref=universe-discover
Our Minor Footballers also enter the championship this weekend. The opening round sees the boys travel to Sean Newman Park in Bohermeen to take on St Ultan’s/Cortown Gaels. The game takes place on Saturday morning @ 11.30
Best of luck to all our teams playing this weekend.
