GAA supporters will be delighted to see that TG4's excellent Laochra Gael series has returned to our screens.

The current series will run for 6 weeks, each show focussing on a well known GAA personality.

Former Donegal footballer Kevin Cassidy was the subject of the opening episode which aired last night.

As always, the show didn't disappoint, giving a fantastic insight into Kevin's life and playing career with club and county.

Next week's show will be of special interest to Longwood's GAA supporters as it focusses on Ryan O'Dwyer. Ryan had a distinguished hurling career representing both Tipperary and Dublin at the highest level. More recently, Ryan became a regular visitor to our village when managing Longwood's senior hurling team in 2019 and 2020.
