Our U14 footballers travelled to Skryne on Sunday morning hoping to make it two wins from two in this year's Spring League.

The game started positively with 2 early points from Patrick Maguire and Conor Baldwin.

Our defence of Dylan Dixon, Erikas Petkus, Luka Farrell, Lucas Hennessy and Emmet Collins were immense all morning. First to the ball on many occasions and playing with great composure and confidence.

Lochlan Rowley, a huge threat to any team with his direct running, chipped in with a well taken point.

Thomas Maguire added 2 goals and a point before half time while Conor, Lochlan, Thomas Murray and Caiden Connor rounded off the first half scoring.

Some half time changes didn't disrupt the Longwood momentum. William Birmingham and Aidan Sharkey getting to the pitch of the game immediately and setting up some nice scores for their teammates.

Aodhan Freeman moved out the field at the start of the second half and made an impressive contribution of 1:2. Aodhan showing his versatility being very effective in goals and on the full forward line.

The sharp shooters were on form again in the second half with Thomas Murray, Thomas Maguire, Paddy Maguire and Caiden Connor all scoring some classy goals and points.

Our defence battled to the end, no more than Tadgh Schram who put in a serious shift at midfield and at full back.

Overall another great performance by the lads. Plenty to work on with tough fixtures to follow over the coming weeks. But great to see the lads enjoying their football.
