Ratoath started off the brighter side with a number of well taken scores before a well-worked Longwood move ended with William Bermingham forcing the ball into the Ratoath net. Two points from the hard working Conor Baldwin left the whites with further positives as the battling Longwood team ended the half seven points down.
The weather conditions worsened in the second half but some resolute defending from Dylan Dixon, Thomas Maguire, Emmet Collins and goalkeeper Caidin Connor kept the team from East Meath at bay. Hard work around the middle from Aidan Sharkey, Thomas Murray, Tadgh Scrahm and Patrick Maguire led to increased pressure on the Ratoath defence with Tyler Mulligan obliging by scoring two well taken goals. Scott O’ Brien finished the game with a superb point from open play leaving the final score 2-17 to 3-3.
